Support staff in regular or term positions working at least half-time are eligible for two personal days each year. Leave is credited and tracked by service date. Employees may use personal leave with prior supervisory approval for personal emergencies or business appointments that cannot be scheduled outside of work hours. Personal leave is not vacation leave. It may be taken in as little as half-hour increments. Unused personal leave cannot be carried into the following year and is forfeited at separation. Once personal leave has been taken employees may use available vacation leave or unpaid leave. The amount of personal leave is reported on an employee’s pay statement.
